BOOKS

  • At 21 years old with permission from my Pastor, I started the youth group for my church. Little did I know that I would be a Youth Pastor for the next 9 years of my life. I just wanted a place for teenagers to come and have fun hanging out while they got to know Jesus, but it became so much more than that.

I loved my kids. I loved every moment.

Teenagers need God. They need to know how to hear and be led by the Holy Spirit. And they need to be loved. I learned so much during my time with them - how to lead, prepare messages, work with volunteers & parents, how to be consistent week in and week out, year after year, and how to deal with the many challenges that come with being in the ministry.

This book is compilation of my time with them. I learned a lot of lessons throughout those years that I want to pass on to future youth pastors and leaders. May it be a blessing to you as you minister to God’s kids.

“As a minister of the gospel, your life is on display. You live in a glass house and are watched whether you think you are or not.”

  • While reading a chapter in the Psalms one morning, I thought a specific section would be so encouraging written in first person. So I hand wrote it and thought, you know, I should do all the Psalms like this.

Over the course of 2 months, every morning I spent with the Lord, I picked out all the encouraging verses that had “me” and God in them to personalize it.

If it said, “God is my refuge and my strength”, I wrote, “You are my refuge and my strength.”

After it was all done, I typed it out and thought I would put it in a booklet just to have for myself. It was so encouraging! Then the Lord clued me into the fact that it would also help a lot of other people too. (Haha)

So here it is! An encouraging one hour read that will strengthen you and be a blessing. Enjoy.

“You are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.”
